While unfortunately this year, the Monaco Yacht Club was unable to organize its famous race, an “online” edition took place from June 30 to July 4, 2020.

The Solar & Energy Boat Challenge promotes zero-emission propulsion and brings together many players from the world of yachting, energy, researchers and academics, future engineers and inventors.

A 7th edition and a reinvented contest

The competition took place online this year and HYNOVA wanted to take part to publicize its innovative fuel cell electric yacht solution powered by hydrogen stored on board, in this competition which rewards the least polluting propulsion solution possible. HYNOVA was one of the five winners, winning the jury’s “Coup de Coeur” prize in this edition, which welcomed a number of international teams, each more motivated than the last, with truly innovative concepts that will bring future responsible solutions to the world of yachting.

Next event: the Cannes Yachting Festival

HYNOVA, alongside ENERGY OBSERVER DEVELOPMENTS (EODev), will be present at the next Cannes Yachting Festival from 8 to 13 September 2020, on the Old Port side, to present its first tender yacht, The New Era and in particular the REXH2 (Hydrogen Range Extender) solution designed by EODev to contribute to the development of a zero-emission maritime mobility. You will be able to discover the technology used to design this first hydrogen-powered yacht on the stand held by our technology partner ENERGY OBSERVER DEVELOPMENTS.

IMPORTANT NOTE: During the Cannes Yachting Festival, the boat and the technology will be visible; however, due to production and certification delays related to the pandemic and containment, it will not be possible to consider sailing during the show. On-water demonstrations will take place at a later date, as the media can take advantage of the Cannes Yachting Festival to visit us and indicate their interest in participating in such a session.
